A well-organized team of collaborators work with passion and great skill on the production of San Romano wines.
Born and raised in Piedmont, after successfully obtaining his diploma of Enotecnico ñ Expert in Viticulture and Oenology, at the Scuola Enologica of Alba (CN), he started to work at the Centre for Oenology of Grinzane Cavour (CN) where he gained considerable experience in the analytical field and started his first oenological consulting services.
In 1992 he obtained the title of Oenologist. After gaining an extensive viticultural and oenological knowledge in his region of origin, he decided in 1997 to completely become an independent professional, working with seriousness, commitment and dedication, with humility and desire to perform, mainly driven by his great passion for this field..
Thus he laid the foundations for his successful oenological career, crowned in 2002 with the title of best Oenologist of the year (Gambero Rosso-Slow Food). In 2002, together with a few others in the Italian oenological panorama, he entered the nomination for the title of Oenologist of the year, conferred by AIS (Associazione Italiana dei Sommeliers), the most prestigious Italian association for Sommeliers.
Since then, although inseparably bound to his region of origin, he began to offer his consulting services in various Italian regions to the most important and prestigious wineries. “In order to work well with everybody, one must be flexible and open,” Beppe says, “one must know the area well where one operates. It is necessary to give space to the quality that the grape variety is able to offer, while intervening as little as possible in the cellar. In other words, each wine is excellent when it is the fruit of care and passion.” Through experience, he has become refined and he tries to intervene “on the tip of his toes”, respecting the characteristics of the vineyards and their land. “The relationship with each client,” Beppe says, “becomes a true friendship based on the enthusiastic exchange of opinions and experiences.”
Yohannes Casi and Enrico Durando
The practical creation of the suggestions and ideas of these professionals is assigned to the full-time commitment and enthusiasm of Enrico Durando and Yohannes Casi, two young employees of San Romano, who close the circle by practically carrying out the knowledge and techniques learnt, with the same passion and dedication to work as old farmers would have
